I started my career in advertising as an art director but soon went freelance as an illustrator, mainly for the advertising industry. sometime in the early 90s I began sculpturing in bronze and it didn’t take long for me to find a market for my work and have been doing it full time since then. My style is realistic or in the art gallery world it is called representational. My subject matter is wildlife, human figures and portrait busts. My commissioned work is mainly from the National heritage Project of South Africa and the “Long March to Freedom” in Cape Town which is one of the biggest bronze art exhibitions in the world and has nearly 100 statues of historical figures. I was privileged to do the lead figure of Nelson Mandela. I also made the life size statue of Mandela for the Cape Town City hall Balcony, the Mandela bust in front of the parliament building and worked on the Robbin Island 6 statues of political prisoners.
